If the piece to be deburred is flat, place it flat on a table with a flat protective barrier (e.g., cutting board, flat aluminum can section, papers) between the table and the piece. Lay the slider flat on the piece and scrape it forward across the burred area, preferably at a less-than-45-degree angle to the line of the burred edge.

For cylinder-shaped pieces, leave them in the Aluminator sleeve with the burred edge at the lip of the sleeve. Scrape the edge of the slider around the inside of the rim until it travels smoothly, without catching. Use the slider to flatten any upward-protruding bits against the upper ledge of the sleeve.
